Greetings from Skills Canada Saskatchewan PDF Print E-mail
I hope you have all had a wonderful summer!

The Skills Canada (Saskatchewan) office has been busy over the last few months and we’ve moved!  Our office is now located in Regina in a temporary location at 425 Winnipeg Street in the Community Services Village (lower level).  By the fall, we will have permanent space secured but we’ll keep you posted on our website: www.SkillsCanadaSask.com.  If you need to get a hold of me, you can reach me on my Regina cell at 306-533-2682 or email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. We also bid farewell to Toni-Lynn Welwood when we left Saskatoon (our Competition Coordinator and Administration Assistant).  The Board of Directors held a luncheon in her honour, presented her with a parting gift and wished her well in her future endeavors.

I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate all of the Competitors, Advisors/Teachers, and Judges for their participation at the 2010 Canadian Skills Competition in Waterloo, Ontario.   And thanks to the parents who made the trip for support!  While it may seem like it was so long ago, I hope your memories of the Nationals will always remain with you.  My sincere THANK YOU to all of you … you represented our Province in a very professional manner and did us all proud.  GO TEAM SASK!

On to another year of Competition!   Keep these Competition dates in mind:

  • 13th Annual Saskatchewan Skills Competition will be held on April 14-15, 2011 at SIAST Palliser Campus, Moose Jaw
  • 17th National Skills Canada Competition will be held on June 1-4, 2011 in Quebec City
  • WorldSkills Competition will be held in London, UK in October, 2011 with two of our Saskatchewan competitors taking part!  Good Luck to Steven Heidel (IT Office Software Applications) and Kaylyn Mack (Hairstyling)!

If there is an opportunity for Skills Canada (Saskatchewan) to come to your school or business to do a presentation on Skills Canada, please don’t hesitate to contact me.  For those that have now participated in a Skills Competition, we hope you will become ambassadors for the program and help us spread the message!

Have a great year!
