"The mission of Skills Canada Saskatchewan is to promote skilled trades and technologies as a first-choice career option for youth in Saskatchewan," says Conrad E. Pura, Executive Director of Skills Canada Saskatchewan. "An event like this turns the spotlight on the best young trade and technology students from across the province."

Gold, silver and bronze medals in over 40 competition areas were awarded in an Olympic-style ceremony on Friday March 14^th, 2008 at Prairieland Park in front of over 600 guests.  Many of the gold medal winners are now part of Team Saskatchewan that will compete at the 14^th Canadian Skills Competition in Calgary on May 25-28, 2008.

Venues for the 10th Saskatchewan Skills Competition included Marca College, Mount Royal Collegiate, Prairieland Park, SIAST Kelsey Campus and the SIIT Trades Training Centre.

Thank you to all of the hundreds of volunteers who made this event a huge success.
