csc_PEI_09.jpgCharlottetown, May 25, 2009 – Forty-three of the best and brightest apprentices and high school students from Saskatchewan are returning home after competing in two intense days of competition at the 15th Canadian Skills Competition held in beautiful Charlottetown, PEI on May 20-23, 2009.  Saskatchewan competitors captured 15 medals including: 2 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze.


csc_PEI_09_2.jpgThe competition is Canada’s largest national multi-trade and technology competition for Canadian students and apprentices.  An incredible display of hands-on expertise, talent and determination, the competition showcased the promising futures to be found in trades and technology careers.

The event attracted over 500 young Canadians competing in 43 skilled trade and technology areas.  Each year, thousands of high school and college students as well as young apprentices across Canada vie for a chance to represent their provinces or territories at this prestigious event with the hope of returning home with medals and launching a career in the trades.
