Step 1
Building the first walls of the gingerbread house on top of the base. Working with two walls at a time can help so that the icing can set. Sometimes using your hands or a sturdy object to hold the walls in place as the icing starts to set can help too.

Step 2
- building the ceiling/floor
- working on more stories
- working on your roof
- building a balcony
- adding lights
- building a chimney
- working on details inside of the first part of the house.

Step 3
Using icing to go over some of the sections to help hold the gingerbread house together. Taking a moment after you work on the sections to let the icing set can help. This helps build a strong structure for your gingerbread house.

Step 4
- using icing to cover parts of the gingerbread house
- making shingles with pieces of pretzels or candies
- coloring icing and using it to ‘paint’ parts of the gingerbread house
- building windows
- building trees with pretzel sticks, cookies, and icing

Step 5
Finishing decorating the gingerbread house and the base. Here are a few ideas:
- decorating with candies, treats, marshmallows, and sprinkles
- using icing to pipe designs

Step 6
Congratulations and we hope that you had fun! Enjoy your gingerbread house and happy holidays!
