Code of Conduct – Competitor Rules & Conditions
Skills Canada Saskatchewan will not be responsible for the supervision of Saskatchewan competitors while at the Provincial and/or the Skills Canada National Competition. All schools must provide appropriate supervision for their students.
DISQUALIFICATION POLICY
If a competitor is disqualified for reasons by a school/technical committee/competition review committee or authoritative body, then the placements for that competition effected will be reviewed by the Skills Canada Saskatchewan Board. If medals are to be or have been awarded to a competitor they will be taken away accordingly.
VIOLATIONS & PENALTIES
Violators of the ‘Code of Conduct’ may be sent home at his or her own expense. Proper notification of the violation and action taken will be sent to the school/college responsible for the participant. A copy will also be provided to the Skills Canada Saskatchewan Board of Directors.
LIABILITY & MEDICAL RELEASE
I hereby agree to release Skills Canada Saskatchewan, its representatives, agents, servants and employees and volunteers from liability for any injury to the named person, resulting from any cause whatsoever occurring to the named person at any time while attending any Skills Canada Saskatchewan activities, including travel to and from these activities, expecting only such injury or damage resulting from willful acts of such representatives, agents, servants and employees.
I do voluntarily authorize Skills Canada Saskatchewan to obtain routine or emergency diagnostic procedures and/or routine or emergency medical treatment for the named person as deemed necessary in medical judgment.
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Skills Canada Saskatchewan for any and all claims, demands, actions, rights of action, and /or judgments by or on behalf of the named person arising from or on account of said procedures and/or treatment rendered in good faith and according to accepted medical standards.
I understand and have read the safety requirements for my competition area. I understand that if I do not adhere to these safety requirements I may be disqualified from the competition.
PHOTO RELEASE
I agree that still photographs and videos of me taken during the course of this Skills Canada Saskatchewan activity may be used and reproduced by Skills Canada Saskatchewan in promotional materials.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Skills Canada Saskatchewan wants every student representative to have an enjoyable experience with maximum attention on safety and comfort. To receive maximum benefit from my participation, I acknowledge that the ‘Code of Conduct’ has been established by Skills Canada Saskatchewan and must be adhered to always. I note that my participation is voluntary. I agree to abide by the official Skills Canada Saskatchewan rules and regulations. It is with the spirit of being a proud and committed participant that I agree to the rules of conduct. If I do not, I accept that I will forfeit my right to attend and participate.
My conduct shall be exemplary at all times.
- I will, at all times, wear my official identification badge.
- I will, attend all activities for which I am registered & assigned, be on time & act in a professional manner.
- I will, at all times respect the authority of the provincial technical committee members, faculty, Skills Canada Saskatchewan staff, judges, volunteers and all others who partake in the SCSPC.
- I will, at all times, respect all public and private property, including the accommodation in which I am housed.
- I will, strictly abide by any curfews established & shall respect the rights of others.
- I will, while attending all Skills activities, refrain from the use of alcoholic beverages &/ or non-prescription drugs (except for prescription medication prescribed by a licensed physician)
- I will, listen and obey instructions from my advisor and/or chaperone.
I agree, if for any reason I am in violation of the rules, I may be brought before the appropriate disciplinary committee for an analysis of the violation(s), and I further agree to accept the penalty imposed on me, with the understanding that all such actions are explained to me, and I further realize that the severity of the penalty may increase with the severity of the violation, even to the extent of being sent home immediately at my own expense.
Having read and understood completely the ‘Code of Conduct’ of Skills Canada Saskatchewan liability, medical release and photo release, I do hereby agree to follow the procedures and practices described.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Skills Canada Saskatchewan is dedicated to ensuring that everyone who attends a Skills Competition Activity has an enjoyable experience with maximum attention paid to safety and comfort. Therefore, Skills Canada Saskatchewan has established a mandatory “Code of Conduct.” It is with this spirit of being a proud volunteer, associate, advisor, guest and/or member of Skills Canada Saskatchewan that I agree to follow these rules of professional conduct.

I/WE hereby confirm that I am responsible for my health and that I acknowledge my/our responsibility to ensure that I/we protect myself/our child from any allergies (food or otherwise) or health concerns which may affect my/their ability to participate in Skills Canada Saskatchewan competitions.
I/WE hereby agree to release Skills Canada Saskatchewan, its representatives, agents, servants and employees from liability resulting from medical conditions, including medications, allergies, disabilities and the like which may affect my ability to participate and/or which results in illness or death while attending any Skills Canada Saskatchewan activities, including travel to and from these activities.
MEDICAL ACKNOWLEDGMENT
I/WE hereby acknowledge that I am medically fit, and I have no medical conditions that would interfere with my attendance at the Skills Competition and acknowledge my responsibility to disclose any medical condition that could compromise my safety or the safety of others while I attend or participate in Skills Competition activities.
I/WE do voluntarily authorize Skills Canada Saskatchewan to obtain emergency medical treatment and diagnostic procedures for the named person as deemed necessary in reasonable medical judgment.
I/WE agree to indemnify and hold harmless Skills Canada Saskatchewan for all claims, demands, actions, rights of action, and/ or judgments by or on behalf of the named person arising from or on account of said procedures and/or treatment rendered in good faith and according to accepted medical standards.
RELEASE OF INFORMATION/PHOTOS
I/WE agree that information pertaining to my participation in Skills Canada Saskatchewan activities, including my name and occupation may be used by Skills Canada Saskatchewan in promotional material and websites, and that still photographs and videotapes of me taken during the Skills Competition activities become the property of Skills Canada Saskatchewan and may be used and reproduced in promotional materials and websites. I/WE also understand that Skills Canada Saskatchewan may communicate with me or with my parent or guardian if I am under the age of majority.
