Beading participants will showcase their traditional beading skills they have attained working with primarily beads to make articles of jewelry or other creative crafts.
Artisans bead using specifically the 2-needle applique method on all kinds of mediums and not limited to Pellon, traditionally tanned hide and commercial hide.
Beading projects that can be worked on to enhance one’s repertoire of capabilities include chain necklaces, post and hook earrings and themed beaded pins, pop-sockets, peyote stitch lanyard and even pow wow regalia accessories.
These beading skills lead to other skills like small business ownership, workshop facilitation and teaching to others interested in the crafts with beads. Elements of design and technological inclusion of other software programs for textiles are opportunities for growth in this beading industry.
